OHDSI Hungary – National Node

Local Collaboration. European Impact.

The OHDSI Hungary National Node, founded in 2024, serves as a collaborative platform bringing together Hungarian stakeholders interested in real-world data and observational health research. The node connects academic institutions, healthcare providers, data partners, SMEs, and individual researchers who are engaged in or exploring the adoption of OHDSI tools and the OMOP Common Data Model.

The node aims to support the development of a national ecosystem aligned with OHDSI standards, facilitating knowledge exchange, capacity building, and collaboration across institutions. Through regular online meetings and participation in the broader OHDSI Europe community, the Hungarian node contributes to advancing interoperable, transparent, and reproducible health data research.

As of 2026, the node includes eight member organisations, with three out of the four Hungarian university clinical centres engaged as active data partners. Two institutions — the University of Debrecen and the University of Pécs — have successfully transformed their data into the OMOP Common Data Model, marking an important milestone for real-world data research in Hungary.
